Chapter 10: The Prophet

Every millennium a New Messenger is sent into the world to prepare humanity for the next stage of its development and to warn humanity of the great dangers that have not arisen before, to prepare humanity for what it must face and what it must overcome, both now and into the future.
每过一个千年，就会有一位新的信使被派往这个世界，为人类下一个阶段的发展做准备，并警告人类注意以前未曾出现过的重大危险，以帮助人类为即将面临的挑战和必须克服的问题做好准备，无论是现在还是未来。
God’s Revelations are rare and are long lasting. They are sent here to give to humanity what it could not give itself, and to rekindle the spiritual fire that has grown cold in the world, to revitalize the religious spirit, which has become so dormant under the weight and the oppression of religious belief and edicts.

Humanity is now facing its greatest challenges, greater than anything it has ever had to face before. It is facing a world in decline—a world of declining resources, a world whose environment has been so seriously abused and disrupted that there will have to be a different adaptation for humanity to survive in the world into the future. And humanity is facing intervention from races in the universe who are here to take advantage of a weak and divided humanity. Never before has the human family as a whole been so challenged.

You have reached this great threshold because of human behavior and because of the evolution of the human race itself. For sooner or later you would draw attention from the universe around you and intervention would follow. Sooner or later you would deplete your natural inheritance in the world to such a degree that the world would begin to change on its own in ways that would not be beneficial to humanity’s ability to live here. Eventually, humanity would have to enter a more mature phase of its evolution, outgrowing its recklessness, its violence, its conflicts and its stupidity.
由于人类的行为和人类自身的进化，你们已经达到了这个重大的门槛。因为你们迟早会引起周围宇宙的注意，干预也会随之而来。你们迟早会耗尽你们在这个世界上的自然遗产，以至于这个世界开始以不利于人类在这里生存的方式自行改变。最终，人类将不得不进入一个更加成熟的进化阶段，摆脱鲁莽、暴力、冲突和愚蠢。
It is into this environment now that the Messenger is sent, a Prophet for this time and for this age—an age that will see a tremendous upheaval and disruption, an age where humanity will have to adapt to a changing planet and have to face the reality that it exists and always has existed in a Greater Community of intelligent life in the universe.
信使现在被派遣来到这样的环境中，成为这个时期和这个时代的先知——这个时期将出现巨大的动荡和混乱，在这个时代，人类将不得不适应这个不断变化的星球，不得不面对这样一个现实：人类存在于宇宙中智能生命的大社区之中，并且一直存在于这个大社区。
There is no escaping this reality. Running away into fantasy or denial, hiding behind human reason and preference only further humanity’s vulnerability and make it more difficult for you to recognize and to adapt to a changing world.

It is into this situation that the Messenger is sent, and his prophecy will be the prophecy from the Creator—a great warning for humanity, a great blessing for humanity, a great preparation for the future, a preparation that humanity could not provide for itself.
信使正是在这种情况下被派遣而来的，他的预言将是来自造物主的预言——对人类的重大警告，对人类的伟大祝福，对未来的伟大准备，这是人类无法为自己提供的准备。
In this sense, then, humanity is being rescued. But will the gift be recognized? Will the Messenger be recognized? Will the warning be heeded? And will the blessing be received?

Many people feel that God has finished speaking to the human family, that there will be no further Revelations, that a Messenger will no longer be sent into the world, as if God has nothing else to say to humanity as it faces its greatest tribulations.
许多人认为上帝已经停止了对人类的启示，认为不会再有新的启示，也不会再有信使被派往这个世界，仿佛上帝对人类在面临最大困境时已经无话可说。
But this is blind, and this is foolish. It is arrogant to assume what God will or will not do. You cannot hide behind the scriptures. You cannot hide behind science or rationality. You cannot look backwards, for you must look forward now to see what is coming over the horizon and to see that you are in a time of Revelation.

The Messenger has been sent. He is in the world today. He is not a superman. He is not going to perform miracles for the masses. He is not like a carnival act to impress people. His gift is deeper and richer, more profound and long lasting. He is not a sensation. He has the gift that no other person in the world has. He is the Prophet for this age.

If you cannot receive this, then you are holding onto your previous beliefs and assumptions, driven by fear that you may have to face something entirely new—a new world, a new life, a New Revelation.
如果你不能接受这个礼物，那你只是在固守于之前的信仰和假设，恐惧于可能需要面对的全新现实——一个新的世界、一个新的生命、一个新的启示。
In the past, whenever God has provided a Revelation for the world, it was resisted and denied and denounced for the very same reasons, from the very same state of mind that the New Message from God will be denounced and reviled and distrusted.
在过去，每当上帝为世人提供启示时，它都会遭到抵制、否认和谴责，其原因与来自上帝的新讯息会遭到谴责、谩骂和不信任的心灵状态如出一辙。
It is the problem of human denial, of course. It is the problem of people living in the past, unable to respond to the present and to the future with any degree of clarity or wisdom.

The future is upon you. The world will be unrecognizable in twenty years. You have nowhere to hide and no reason to be blind. It is an emergency for humanity, for only an emergency and a great need could propel God to send a New Revelation into the world.
未来就在眼前。二十年后，世界将面目全非。你将无处可藏，也没有理由视而不见。这是人类的紧急状况，只有在紧急和重大的需求面前，上帝才会将新的启示送往这个世界。
The New Revelation will expose humanity’s weakness and ignorance, its beliefs, its prejudices, its insistence that it knows God’s Will. It will hide behind its rationality. It will hide behind its scriptures. It will hide behind its repudiation, its denial and its ambitions.
新的启示将揭露人类的软弱和无知，揭露人类的信仰、偏见以及坚持自己知道上帝意志的自满。它将躲在理性的背后。它将躲在经文的背后。它将躲在自己的否定、否认和野心的背后。
In a sense, the times to come are the fruits of humanity’s labors—the bitter fruits of deception and conquest, of greed and ambition, of the misuse of the world. Humanity, who cannot control its passions, its population, its ambitions; humanity, who cannot think ahead for the future, who will use up everything right now, will spend its natural inheritance, thinking that it is endless and cannot be exhausted.
从某种意义上说，未来的时代是人类劳动的成果——欺骗和征服、贪婪和野心、滥用世界的苦果。人类无法控制自己的激情、人口和野心；人类无法为未来着想，他们会在当下耗尽一切，挥霍自己的自然遗产，认为这些遗产是无穷无尽、用之不竭的。
And what will humanity do? How will it adapt and survive? And what will it face in the universe around it, of which humanity knows nothing, projecting only its wishes and fantasies?

How will humanity find the strength and the commitment to cooperate and to unite for the preservation of civilization? How will humanity prepare for a Greater Community of life that is not human and that does not value the human spirit? And how will humanity determine its friends from its foes in the universe, as many come bearing gifts and secret plans? And how will the individual, how will you, find the real purpose that has brought you into the world—a purpose that exists beyond your intellect, your ideas and your plans and goals? And who will clarify religion to bring forth its essence, its fundamental teaching and purpose? Who can separate the gold from the dross? Who can see that humanity is at the great threshold of emerging into a universe that will be unlike anything that you can now comprehend?
人类将如何找到合作和团结的力量和决心来保护文明？人类将如何为一个非人类、不重视人类精神的生命大社区做好准备？在宇宙中，许多种族都带着礼物和秘密计划而来，人类将如何确定自己的敌友？作为个人，你将如何找到带你来到这个世界的真正目的——一个在你的智力、想法、计划和目标之外的目的？谁能澄清宗教，揭示其本质、它的基本教导和宗旨？谁能将黄金与糟粕分离？谁能看到人类正站在进入宇宙的重大门槛上，而这个宇宙将不同于你现在所能理解的任何想法？
If you are honest, you will see you do not have an answer to these questions. You do not even have an answer as to how you will find your true path and the strength to follow it. At this moment, there are only a few adept individuals, and even fewer teachers, who can offer you this, but they know nothing of humanity’s future and the great change that is upon the world.
如果你诚实地面对这些问题，你会发现你没有答案。你甚至连如何找到自己真实的道路以及追寻这条道路的力量都没有答案。此时此刻，只有少数精通此道的人，甚至更少的老师可以为你提供这方面的帮助，但他们对人类的未来和世界正在发生的巨变一无所知。
Here you must have humility and tremendous self-honesty, or you will think that you know when you do not know, and you will rely upon assumptions that have no basis in reality.

You will see all of this as the Messenger begins to emerge from obscurity, where he has been kept back for decades, receiving the New Message from God. You will see the denial. You will see the ridicule. You will see the disbelief and the repudiation.
当信使开始从默默无闻的状态中走出来时，你会看到这一切，几十年来，他一直在默默无闻地接收来自上帝的新讯息。你会看到否定。你会看到嘲笑。你会看到不信和排斥。
People will cling to their old religion, afraid of what God might reveal now. Underneath all of this denial and rejection is fear—fear of life, fear of the future, fear of change, fear of Revelation.

People have committed so many grievous acts against themselves and others that they are now afraid that God might speak again. But they will hide this fear behind their pride and their assumptions and their beliefs. They will hide in their state houses and in their mosques, and in their temples and churches.
人们已经对自己和他人犯下了如此多的恶行，以至于他们现在害怕上帝再次讲话。但他们会把这种恐惧隐藏在他们的骄傲、假设和信仰的背后。他们会躲进他们的州府、清真寺、寺庙和教堂。
The Messenger today has no better chance of being received than the great Messengers of the past. His advantage is that his voice can be carried around the world. His benefit is that he has spent 25 years receiving the New Message from God in its pure form. And once presented, it cannot stop.
今天的信使并不比过去的伟大信使更有机会被接受。他的优势在于他的声音可以传遍全世界。他的优势在于，他用25年的时间接收了上帝纯粹的新讯息。一旦呈现，就无法停止。
The power and the wisdom of this Message surpasses human understanding and will resonate at the deepest levels of the individual’s heart and soul. But if people do not know their heart and soul, then the Message will not find its true recipients.
这个讯息的力量和智慧超越了人类的理解，会在个人的内心深处和灵魂的最深处产生共鸣。但如果人们不知道自己的内心和灵魂，那讯息就找不到真实的接受者。
Humanity must repent. It must change. It is blindly following a path of self-destruction where it will be vulnerable not only to its own devastating behavior on Earth, but to intervention and manipulation from beyond. The Earth is too valuable for conquest, and so the attempt at control will be subtle and persuasive, speaking to humanity’s greed and ignorance and superstitions.
人类必须悔改，人类必须改变。人类正在盲目地走上一条自我毁灭的道路，在这条道路上，人类不仅容易受到自己在地球上的破坏性行为的影响，还容易受到来自外部的干预和操纵。地球过于珍贵，不适合被征服，所以控制的企图将是微妙的、有说服力的，与人类的贪婪、无知和迷信有关。
It is this great vulnerability that the Prophet will speak of. He has been given the words and the Message. The Message is so great and huge and so encompassing that there will be no room for human confabulation and human invention and manipulation of the pure Message.
先知要讲述的正是这种巨大的脆弱性。他已经被赋予了这些话语和讯息。讯息是如此伟大、如此庞大、如此包罗万象，以至于没有空间让人类的虚构、发明或操控来污染这个纯净的讯息。
But it will take time. For people are dead to their own Knowledge, the deeper intelligence that God has placed within them. They are dead to themselves—driven, rushing about, feverishly trying to survive or to fulfill their desires, caught up in the drama of everyday life.
但这将需要时间。因为人们对自己内在的内识，对上帝放置在他们内心更深层面的智能，已经麻木。他们对自己毫无知觉——他们被生活所迫，匆忙奔波，为生存或满足自己的欲望而焦头烂额，陷入了日常生活的戏剧性之中。
So the first to respond will be those who are feeling the stirring. They have been called already, but they do not know what they are being called for. They are discontented and distressed because they know there is something greater for them, but they cannot find it. They cannot find it in their culture, their religion, their family, their ideas. They cannot find it in politics or social movements. They are being stirred by the greater Power of God. They are preparing themselves for the Revelation, but they do not see this yet.

Humanity thinks one way, but life is moving another way. So the Prophet is speaking to the dead and to the dying, to the deaf, to the blind.

But his words will reach into the minds and hearts of those who have been stirred, who are not content to base their lives on old values and assumptions, old beliefs and institutions. They are being stirred to awaken out of a deep and dreadful slumber. The Prophet will speak to them. His Message will be presented to the world to call to them, for they will be the first to recognize and to respond to the Revelation.
但是，他的话语将深入那些已被唤醒的人们的心灵和内心之中，他们不满足于将自己的生命建立在旧的价值观和假设、旧的信仰和制度之上。他们正在被唤醒，从深沉而可怕的沉睡中醒来。先知将与他们说话。他的讯息将呈现在世人面前，向他们发出召唤，因为他们将最先认出并回应启示。
The Prophet is not here to be exalted. He will not perform miracles to impress people. He will not be so sensational that people will be blinded by him, for that is all foolishness and has never been the case with God’s real Messengers. Only the stories that were invented after the passing of the Messengers, after the Messengers were destroyed by their own people, their own cultures, were the fantastic tales created. But it is never the real life of the Messenger, you see.
先知在这里不是为了被吹捧。他不会为了给人们留下深刻印象而创造奇迹。他不会哗众取宠，让人们被他蒙蔽双眼，因为那都是愚蠢之举，上帝真正的信使从来都不会如此。只有在信使逝去之后，在信使被自己的人民、自己的文化毁灭之后，人们才会编造出那些奇幻的故事。你看，但这绝不是信使的真实生活。
The tales are created, the miracles are invented to persuade the unknowing, to intrigue those who cannot on their own recognize the reality of the Revelation.
编造故事、创造奇迹的目的是为了说服不明真相的人，吸引那些无法独自识别启示现实的人。
Humanity has built up layer upon layer of belief and assumption that has nothing to do with the reality of the true life. Like the great temples of old, they have become encrusted, overlaid with beauty and decay. Where will the New Revelation then be received in such an environment?
人类在自己的信仰和假设上一层又一层的堆积，这些与真实生命的现实毫无关系。就像古老的伟大庙宇一样，它们已经被美丽与腐朽所覆盖。因此，在这样的环境中，新的启示将在哪里被接受呢？
Clearly, the Messenger alone cannot bring a New Message from God into the world, so those who are being stirred now must assist him. They must learn of the New Message. They must study it. They must apply it to their lives. They must take the Steps to Knowledge within themselves to find the greater voice and the power that God has given to them, which are waiting to be discovered.
显然，信使一个人无法将上帝的新讯息带入这个世界，因此，那些现在被唤醒的人必须协助他。他们必须学习新讯息。他们必须研究它。他们必须将它运用到生活中。他们必须开展内识的进阶，找到上帝赋予他们的、等待着他们去发现的更伟大的声音和力量。
The Messenger is here to empower people, to renew their ancient ties to Knowledge and to equip and prepare them for the Great Waves of change that are coming to the world.
信使是来赋予人们力量的，重新连接他们与内识的古老纽带，是来装备他们并让他们为即将到来世界的变革巨浪做好准备的。
There will be many voices who will speak of change. There will be many voices who will speak of prophecy. There are many voices who will project fearful or desirable images of the future. There will be many voices claiming to reveal a New Message from God. But there is only one, for this has always been the way that God has brought a New Revelation into the world.
会有许多声音谈论变革。会有许多声音谈论预言。会有许多声音投射出令人恐惧或令人向往的未来景象。也会有许多声音声称自己揭示了来自上帝的新讯息。但是，只有一个声音，因为这一直是上帝将新启示带入世界的方式。
If the Revelation were given to many people, there would be different versions. People would alter it. People would adapt it to their current thinking and beliefs, their current religion and culture, and the Message would lose its clarity, its integrity and its focus.
如果启示被赋予许多人，就会出现不同的版本。人们会篡改它。人们会根据自己当前的思维和信仰、当前的宗教和文化对它进行改编，从而使讯息失去它的清晰性、完整性和焦点。
Only one who has been prepared to be the Messenger can be the Messenger. Only one who is called and prepared to be the Prophet for this time and this age can be the Prophet for this time and this age.
只有准备好成为信使的人，才能成为信使。只有被召唤并准备好成为这个时代的先知的人，才能成为这个时代的先知。
There are many bright people in the world who will reveal, through their own intelligence, a recognition of the world’s condition and its future difficulties. But only the Prophet can reveal what it really means, and how it can be attended to and what must change at the deepest level of people’s minds and hearts—to change course, to recognize reality and to prepare for a future that will be unlike anything they have ever known.
世界上有许多聪慧的人，他们会通过自己的智能，揭示对世界的状况以及对未来困难的认识。但是，只有先知才能揭示它的真正含义，如何应对它，以及人们的心灵和内心最深处必须做出的改变——改变方向，认清现实，并为一个将完全不同于他们以往所知的未来做好准备。
There will be many voices. Some of them will be charming and persuasive, elegant and articulate. But only the Messenger knows and has the true Message. Only he can deliver it, for only he has received it. Only he can embody it.
会有很多声音。其中有些声音会很有魅力，很有说服力，很优雅，很善于表达。但只有信使知道并拥有真实的讯息。只有他能传递它，因为只有他收到了启示。只有他能代表它。
The burden, then, is upon the listener, the recipient. The test is for them. Will they remain blind, or will light begin to penetrate where there was only darkness before? Will they respond at the deeper level of Knowledge, or will they just project their attitudes and beliefs?
因此，重任就落在了听众和接收者身上。这是对他们的考验。他们会继续视而不见，还是光明开始穿透之前只有黑暗的地方？他们会在更深的内识层面做出回应，还是仅仅投射自己的态度和信仰？
The Messenger has passed the test. He does not need to provide miracles to convince people because the miracle is the New Message itself, and the miracle is the power and presence of Knowledge within the individual.
信使已经通过了考验。他不需要提供奇迹来说服人们，因为奇迹就是来自上帝的新讯息本身，而奇迹也是个人内在的内识的力量和存在。
If someone were to say, “Well, that is not good enough for me,” then what they are saying is that they have no awareness; they are ignorant. But instead of admitting their ignorance, they will project themselves as knowing and competent to make such a judgment.
如果有人说：“好吧，这对我来说还不够好。”这实际上是在说他们没有觉知，他们是无知的。但他们非但不承认自己的无知，反而会把自己想象成知道并有能力做出这样的判断。
This is the further stupidity of humanity—a child now with power, a child now who is ruining the world and who is setting itself up to be manipulated and dominated by powerful and heartless forces in the universe.
这就是人类更进一步的愚蠢——一个现在拥有力量的孩子，一个正在毁灭世界的孩子，一个正在让自己被宇宙中强大而无情的力量操纵和控制的孩子。
God’s New Message now is not simply for the unique individual or the rare and refined intelligence. It is not the providence of the elite, the rich and the powerful or the highly educated. It is for the people—to learn to recognize Knowledge and to follow Knowledge, and to receive the guidance and the counsel, the warning and the blessing of God’s New Revelation.
现在，上帝的新讯息并不仅仅是为那些独特的个体或者罕见的人以及拥有精炼智慧的人而来。它不是精英、富人、权贵或受过高等教育者的专属。它是为人们准备的——学习内识，追随内识，接受上帝新启示的指引和忠告、警告和祝福。
You will see now, as time goes on, the great need for this Revelation and the great resistance to this Revelation. When something this pure is brought into the world, it will show everything that is impure and how the truth has been alloyed with convention and convenience, with ambition and corruption. The light will reveal the darkness and will reveal what everyone is hiding for themselves.
随着时间的推移，你会看到对这个启示的巨大需求，也会看到对这个启示的强烈抵抗。当这种纯洁的启示被带到这个世界上时，它将显示出一切不纯洁的事实，显示出真理是如何被传统和便利、野心和腐败所玷污的。光明将揭示黑暗，揭示每个人都在为自己隐瞒的事实。
Do not fear God’s condemnation, for God loves the world. And understand that without Knowledge, humanity can only be foolish and self-indulgent. There is no condemnation here. The angry God is the projection of the angry person. People want God to carry out the vengeance that they themselves seek. People want God to carry out justice that they themselves would prescribe.
不要害怕上帝的谴责，因为上帝爱这个世界。而且要理解，没有内识，人类只能是愚昧和自我放纵的。这里没有谴责。愤怒的上帝只是愤怒之人的投射。人们希望上帝执行他们自己寻求的复仇。人们希望上帝执行他们自认为应该的正义。
But God is beyond these things. Why would human folly disturb the Creator of all the universes, the Creator of more races in the universe than your numbers could account for?
但上帝是超越这些定义的。为什么人类的愚蠢会扰乱所有宇宙的创造者，造物主创造的宇宙种族远超你们所能计算的数量。
The tragedy is that humanity is not responding to God’s Presence and communication. And as a result the human family is suffering and is taking a path of decline, conflict and self-destruction. There is not enough resident wisdom and restraint in the world yet to counteract these tremendous negative tendencies.
悲剧在于，人类没有对上帝的存在和沟通做出回应。因此，人类大家庭正在遭受苦难，走上衰落、冲突和自我毁灭的道路。世界上还没有足够的智慧和克制来抵消这些巨大的负面趋势。
It is not the end of time. It is a great transition—a transition to a different kind of life in a different kind of world, a transition from living in isolation in the universe to living in a Greater Community of life, where humanity will have to create its own rules of engagement and protection for the world. It is a transition to a new and sustainable life in the world so that humanity can have a future. It is a transition of such great significance and impact that there is nothing in human history that can compare with it. Even the collapse of ancient civilizations, though dramatic and symbolic, cannot match the impact of the Great Waves of change that are coming to the world or humanity’s encounter with a Greater Community of life.

Only the Messenger can speak of these things with real clarity, for he has been given the New Message from God. In obscurity, he has received it, and now he must present it and speak for it and call people to it. It is a tremendous and disheartening task.

So everyone who can respond is significant in receiving and learning and living the Revelation. Everyone can make the difference in whether human civilization will survive and grow or crumble under its own weight and dysfunction.

You must look forward. You must open your mind. Set aside your condemnation of others. Unburden yourself from the weight of history so that your eyes may be clear, so that your ears can hear and your heart may know.

God’s New Message speaks of the present and the future. The past is only memories now. You carry wisdom from the past, and lessons from the past, and gratitude for the contribution of individuals and nations from the past, but you must be present now and look to the future. And the New Revelation will give you the eyes to see if you can receive it and learn of it with humility and gratitude.

The Prophet will need your assistance and support. And Knowledge within you will tell you how this can be done.

If you are to face the future without trepidation and denial, you must have this power and this presence within yourself, and that is why the New Message is for you. It is not here to replace the world’s religions, but to give them a greater capacity, a greater awareness. Otherwise, they will become irrelevant in the future when humanity is facing its greatest trials.

The Prophet is not a personality. He is a vehicle for God’s deliverance into the world. His personal life is only a platform. His personal interests are only the by-product of living in culture. But his personal awareness has been superseded by the Will and the Power of the Creator and God’s Message for the world.
先知不是一个个性化的人物（人格），他是上帝将救赎带入世界的载体。他的个人生活只是一个平台，他的个人兴趣只是文化生活的副产品。但他的个人觉知已被造物主的意志、力量以及上帝为世界带来的讯息所取代。
Few will understand him, but the recognition can occur. And those who can see will be blessed, and their lives will be justified, and their presence in the world will be acknowledged.

Those who can receive will be strengthened and given courage and confidence that they could not receive otherwise.

Those who can respond will understand themselves and their past and will be able to free themselves from self-hatred and unforgiveness.

Those who can receive will be illuminated over time, as they themselves take the Steps to Knowledge.

This is the great truth that must be recognized. You cannot recognize it with your intellect, for it is only full of thoughts from the past. It must be a deeper resonance through the Ancient Corridors of your mind. And those doors must be open now for you to see, to know and to receive for yourself and for all those who you may be able to serve and to assist in the future.
